A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

***This prototype was submitted for CS-3813 at the University of Tulsa***

This is a prototype of a game concept I had a while ago for a survival horror game called Uncle Billy.  In this game, the player begins trapped in an old asylum and must work their way out, exploring different areas and avoiding the things that lurk in the shadows.  All the while, they are being hunted by Uncle Billy, their unwanted host and a seemingly unstoppable forced.  The player must hide and evade Billy while Billy in turn will interact with the world to delay and trap the player.  In this game of a cat and mouse, you must escape or be forever trapped within Uncle Billy's Asylum.

***TIPS and Notes***

  • Press Escape to view the Controls in game.
  • You can break boxes with an axe to find items.
  • Making lots of noises may alert Uncle Billy to your location.
  • If the power goes out, search for the fuse box.  Billy may have turned it off.
  • For this prototype, a zombie model is being used for the Uncle Billy NPC.

I have also attached the Design Document, which is not completely uptodate.

This game was made in Unity with the following third party assets:

good

Really good job on this one! AI was a bit random and erratic and the destructable boxes tend to get in the way of the items it spawns, but I really enjoyed this otherwise. Also, was there a torch?? Lots of batteries but couldn't find any torch?

I really enjoyed watching your playthrough of the game demo - it was incredibly entertaining! There  was actually a torch in the starting room dresser, which I realize now I should have made more clear.  The demo was part of a school project, so if I ever continue it, I’ll be sure to take your advice to heart.  I also noticed that the game appeared to run a tad laggy on your machine - would you mind sharing the specs?

1070, 32gb ram and an AMD ryzen 5 3600. It could have more to do with the fact I was recording in the background. Generally I try to minimise other background applications for smoother frames, but also want to upgrade my gpu and CPU as soon as I can.
